Tara’s journey in education has been diverse and enriching. She embarked on her academic path at the University of Oklahoma, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a focus on archeology in 2011. In 2014, she transitioned into the field of education, kickstarting her career by teaching 7th grade science and social studies. Her dedication to enhancing her skills led her to pursue a Master of Arts in teaching, which she obtained in 2017 after three years of graduate school.

Throughout her tenure in education Tara has demonstrated her versatility by teaching students across various grade levels, from preschool to adult education. Her true passion, however, lies in early childhood education. In addition to her formal education, Tara has invested significant time in attending professional development classes, honing her expertise in The Science of Reading, positive classroom management, and catering to the needs of students with special requirements including English Language Learners.

In her role within public schools, Tara served as a mentor teacher, underscoring her commitment to sharing her knowledge with fellow educators. She firmly believes that empowering other teachers to better support their students can be transformative, even for children she may never meet. As a proponent of continuous learning, Tara remains dedicated to expanding her pedagogical knowledge, staying abreast of new educational research, and gaining insights from every teacher and student she encounters.

Tara’s extensive experience across multiple grade levels has provided her with a profound understanding of how educational standards evolve and the foundational knowledge essential for each successive grade level. She draws a parallel between education and building a house, asserting that quality early childhood education serves as the cornerstone upon which future learning is constructed.

With her qualifications and dedication, Tara proudly holds a level 11 Professional Development License (PDL), the highest attainable. Her educational journey spans over six and a half years, accumulating over 165 college credits, including 40 in education. She has successfully passed teacher licensure exams in two states and currently holds an Oklahoma standard teaching license.

Tara’s enthusiasm for nurturing young learners fuels her anticipation for new adventures and the remarkable achievements her upcoming class will undoubtedly accomplish.
